26 January (HC). The country is celebrating the 71st Republic Day on Sunday. There is excitement everywhere on the national festival. Many leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted Republicans on Republic Day. Tight security arrangements have been made in the entire country including Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted - 'Many congratulations to all the countrymen on Republic Day, Jai Hind.'
On the auspicious occasion of the national festival, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also tweeted and congratulated all the countrymen. He has said- 'Warmest greetings to all countrymen on the 71st Republic Day.'
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has said in the greeting message - "Hearty congratulations to the countrymen and the diaspora community on the occasion of the seventh Republic Day and best wishes for the future life."
The Congress Twitter account reads- 'Our ancestors fought with valor and honesty to give us the Constitution. The constitution gives us rights, freedom and serves as a guiding light for the government and all citizens. We wish everyone a happy Republic Day.
Meanwhile, in the Republic ceremony held at Rajpath in the capital of the country, there is an influx of people to witness a grand demonstration of the country's military power, valuable cultural heritage and socio-economic progress. Brazilian President Jaér Bolsonaro is the chief guest at the 90-minute ceremony held on the anniversary of the founding of India's Republic.
Satellite piercing weapon 'Shakti', army battle tank Bhishma, infantry warfare vehicle and recently inducted into the Indian Air Force Chinook and Apache combat helicopter are part of the grand military parade. The parade will begin at 10 am in Rajpath. President Ramnath Kovind will unfurl the tricolor. The National Capital Territory has been kept under aerial security at a large level.
On the Rajpath, out of 22 tableaux showing the valuable cultural heritage and economic progress of the nation, 16 tableaux belong to the states and union territories. Ministry of Defense has said that school children will give message of age-old yoga tradition and spiritual values through dance and music.
At the start of the Republic Day parade ceremony, Prime Minister Modi will pay tribute to the martyrs on behalf of the grateful nation at the National Summer Memorial near India Gate. This will be the first time that the Prime Minister will pay tribute to the martyrs at the National Summer Memorial instead of Amar Jawan Jyoti. After this, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries will leave for the Salami Manch to observe the parade at Rajpath.
